...Everything Else Is Just Distraction
Love never hurts. Never.
Love never fails.
Love always perseveres. It keeps going until the end.
Love always hopes. It looks for the best.
Love always trusts. (That things will work out for good.)
Love always protects.
Love does not delight in negativity - it rejoices in the truth.
Love keeps no record of wrongs.
Love is not easily angered.
Love is not self-seeking.
Love does not dishonor others.
Love is not proud. It does not strut.
Love does not boast.
Love does not envy.
Love is kind.
Love is patient. It never gives up.
These three remain: faith, hope and love; and the greatest of these is love.
Learning to love unconditionally is one of the most powerful skills we can develop. It releases us from the prison of trying to control other people’s behavior. It clears the storm in our mind and allows us freedom to move on and live the abundant life before us - without expecting something from someone who we think owes us.
Learning to love ourselves unconditionally brings so much joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness and self-control in our lives. We take care of ourselves best when we love big. And we love others best when we love ourselves.
If you’re in pain and you’re blaming “love” for it, you’re mistaken. That feeling isn’t love. It could be disappointment, shame, guilt or any host of other emotions, but it definitely isn’t love.
When we’re “in love” it feels amazing. We want more of it. We love being in love.
So let’s stop blaming love for the unpleasant emotions we’re experiencing.
The real work is learning love. Everything else is just distraction.
